Once again the Christmas Fayre was a great success, there were plenty of games and activities, a bouncy slide, refreshments and BBQ, as well as the magical Santa's Grotto.
We hope everyone that came enjoyed themselves and that the new queuing system for the grotto worked better than previous years. The children certainly enjoyed the snow! We raised an amazing £1,976 December 2017 |
Family Camp Night 2017We had a fantastic time at the first FoLPS Family Camp Night. Everyone managed to get their tents up and the children enjoyed themselves playing games and having fun with their friends. The barbecue went down well and was followed by marshmallows and s'mores round the camp fire and then a round of bingo! The night owls kept the neighbours awake with a bit of singing and jokes round the campfire but we were all tucked up in our beds by 11pm.
Many thanks to everyone who came, and to all those who helped organise it. Roll on next years camp night! July 2017 |
Summer Fayre 2017Wow, what a day!! This had to be the biggest Summer Fayre yet - 5 large inflatables, Little Magic Ponies, Guile's Reptiles, a proper ice cream van as well as all the usual games, stalls, tombolas, swing boats, Rotary Club barbecue, refreshments, face painting and performers etc. The Red Arrows even did a fly past!! We hope you enjoyed it!
We are delighted to announce that we made an amazing £3,078!!! Thank you to everyone involved in the planning, setting up, running and clearing the fayre and also to everyone who came! July 2017 |
Grandparents came to Lakeside on Wednesday 29th March for the annual Grandparent's day concerts and FoLPS were on hand to offer refreshments as well as raffle tickets for the Spring Hamper Raffle and also an impromptu fire drill when the urn over-heated!
The beautiful hampers were made up using donations received on Mufti Day. Thank you to everyone who donated items for this as well as all those who sold tickets. We'd also like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who provided cakes for the refreshments tables, your donations were gratefully received and thoroughly enjoyed by the grandparents. We made a fabulous £705.95!! March 2017 |
Christmas Fundraiser 2016Our Christmas Fundraiser for 2016 was a 2017 school calendar. Pupils and staff were photographed by Steve Head, the school photographer, and we produced a fun calendar, packed full of useful school/FoLPS dates for the coming year. We put a lot of time and effort into this project, with the photography and artwork all being done for free and we hope you are as pleased with the results as we are!
We'll let you know how much we raised as soon as we know! There are still calendars available to buy from the school office!!! |
THANK YOU to all the parents and teacher that helped make this years Christmas Fayre so successful.
We made £2,450!!! We had a great turn out from parents and pupils, Santa had a steady stream of visitors and the Rotary Club barbecue was very popular. FoLPS had a small panicky moment at around lunchtime when it was discovered that the bouncy castle was too tall Hall 1 but we managed to fit it on the grass area outside the uniform shed and some of our hardy teachers wrapped up warm to supervise it for the duration of the fayre (thank you Mrs Tew, Mr Fanzo and Mr Orgill)!!! Our special guest, the Stormtrooper was a particluar hit, we hope everyone who wanted a photo with him managed to get one! We hope that everyone that had gifts from the secret room were pleased with their surprise, and thank you to everyone who donated cakes for the stall and particularly to Zoe Bilton who made an amazing cake for the Guess the Weight of the Cake game. Check out these photos from the day: |
A huge thank you to all the parents and teacher that helped make this terms Autumn Glow Disco such a huge success.
We made a huge £1,268!!! We tried to streamline the checking in process, and we hope you found the new idea of dropping your kids off at the door a bit easier and it meant that there was less chaos and we were able to get the kids boogying away as soon as they came through the door! We have had some great feedback about the disco, it seems like all the kids had an amazing time! It was so much fun as everyone looked awesome with their outfits on and I loved having my face painted too. The school disco is brilliant, I get to see my friends and buy lots of glow items. I like staying to help mummy as I get to have pizza! October 2016

The attractions got bigger and better this year, with a giant inflatable obstacle course, an inflatable Gladiator Joust, a bouncy shelter skelter and the Wild Water Warriors area as well as old favourites like the donkey rides and swing boats. There were games galore including piglet racing, a Human Fruit Machine, Spin the Wheel, Balloon Pop and a Yukky Dip! Entertainment was provided by Daryl Quick, Shimmy Cafe belly dancers, Aspects of Dance and the Lakeside Bollywood dancing class run by Jhoom Bollywood Dancers. A HUGE thank you to all the parents, staff and pupils who helped in every way to make this years summer fayre the biggest and best yet! July 2016 |

Spring Disco 2016The Spring disco was held on Friday 11th March. The theme was chosen by the Key Stage 2 pupils who were asked what they would like at the disco. We also had a Year 6 VIP area which was VERY popular, they had their own seating area, a DVD player, snacks and slushy drinks - and their very own bouncer to keep the others out! We also welcomed students from Tomlinscote School who acted as DJs and organised games during the disco.
We raised over £900 which is a huge amount! Thank you to everyone who helped organise and run the disco, and to all the parents who bought tickets. March 2016 |
